The Cub Pack are always busy. It provides scouting for those aged 8-10.5yrs. In Fillongley we meet on a Wednesday night 7 - 8.30pm, and a second pack on Thursday 6 - 7:30pm
Akela runs the cub pack. In Fillongley this is Andy ( Wednesday) and Richard (Thursday), and they are supported by assistant leaders, parent helpers and young leaders. When it's busy we often run a parents rota. All of the leaders are named after characters in the Jungle Book.

Cubs learn with activities, first aid, new sports, fitness, basic knots, road safety, outdoor skills. Often the games will be linked into the subject being studied. Cubs may have to do some work at home.......

The Cubs enjoy an active programme with lots of competitions with other cub packs including: swimming, football, cross country, dominoes, chess and draughts, general knowledge, treasure hunt.....

This is a picture from the sleepover we just did working towards our Local History Badge, with many of the Cubs managing to achieving it.

the cubs had amazing fun telling their parents about the womeries that they made, as well having a sense evening being able to touch frogs, putting there feet into jelly, and working out which flavour the crisp was!!!

Just a few weeks ago the cubs had a night of kayak having a really fun time splashing around, rafting up and playing a bit of football on the water

Cubs have recently been doing their cook badge. Thinking about hygeine what food you need to eat to stay healthy. Then at the end making their own pizza's and then making some revolting pizza's with lots of spices on for the leader's! yuck!!!
They are also doing their Global Challenge. Working out where countries and continents are around the world. where different foods come from-and tasting them :) ! also researching a charity which helps other countries around the world
For the Global Challenge he cubs also had fun breaking a piñata and eating all the sweets from inside it. Finding about traditional sports from China. also about the Golden Temple in India. as well as other interesting facts from other Countries.
At the end of it we also raised money for the World Wildlife Fund which will be used to adopt an animal for the Cub Pack
Every Year we also go on a cub camp with the whole district. Completing hard challenges, camp fires and eating lots of yummy food. Tree Planting- Environmental Partnership. We were given 400 plants to plant with other members of the scout group. We did it on the 24th of February in the playing field and the cemetery. The trees are going to provide berries and nuts for the birds, and hopefully they will grow.
